Questions to ask any strategy software vendor
Read the data terms before the feature list. Specifically:
- Where is the data physically stored, and in which jurisdictions is it replicated or backed up?
- Who at the vendor can access our content: support staff, engineers, subprocessors? “Encrypted at rest” does not answer this.
- What happens to our data if we leave? Export format, deletion timeline, and what persists in backups.
- Is our content used to train models or improve the product? If so, on what basis, and can it be switched off?
- Which subprocessors are involved, and can they change without our consent?
- Under whose legal process could our data be compelled? That depends on corporate structure, not only server location.
A vendor that answers all six precisely is trustworthy on this dimension whether or not you choose them. Vagueness is itself an answer.

Does XSTRAT guarantee data sovereignty?
